Places To Visit On Your First Trip To Kenya
Of all the 55 African countries, Kenya is actually one of the top destinations that attract foreign travelers with a spirit of adventure. When I was young I never quite knew how blessed my country is until I started getting around. My entire life and career path changed as I came to a new awareness of how Kenya is an awe inspiring country. Kenya provides a beautiful and serene environment for relaxing and unwinding whether you are on a safari getaway or just a weekend vacation.
The beauty of this country is just priceless, from the vast Savannah grasslands to the colorful tribal cultures. I have gathered information on the best places I have been to in Kenya which you can also visit and have a marvelous experience.
Here are the best places to visit in Kenya:
1. Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa's Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.
The Masai Mara boasts the best game and bird-viewing not only in Kenya, but anywhere in Africa. Throughout the year the Masai Mara is a place of natural drama, a kaleidoscope of color and life. The best time to visit this nature-filled place are the months between July and October.
2. Diani Beach
Diani Beach is one of the most exclusive locations for Kenya beach holidays, if not the best. The pearly-white sands blend into the turquoise warm waters of the Indian Ocean creating a perfect backdrop of tranquility for a truly memorable Kenyan Holiday.
There are a variety of breathtaking water sports available to close the deal on your splendid holiday. Those who wish to dive will be spoilt for choice. Spa and wellness are available too, for relaxation, a variety of massage and beauty treatments will ensure you leaving in a state of peace and tranquility. Other activities are Golf, Tennis, Horse Riding and many more.
3. Mount Kenya
If you are a soul adventurer and just can't have enough of adventure thrills, then this is a clear-cut escapade for you. Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa, which offers a wealth of excellent and diverse climbing possibilities on rock, snow and ice.
Apart from the superb climbing potential on Mount Kenya, its tarns and alpine meadows; exotic, equatorial, high-altitude vegetation; sun birds, hyrax and soaring eagles make the walk around the peaks one of the most beautiful expeditions in the East African mountains.
4. Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru is among Kenya's finest National Parks. Flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest and at least one waterfall, the park is gorgeous year-round and is home to both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos and endangered Rothschild giraffes. The Park is most famous though for its thousands of flamingos. These beautiful birds still inhabit the lake despite some of them fleeing following the rising water levels in 2014.
5. Giraffe Center
Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is an amazing place to visit. It started as a rehabilitation project to rescue the Rothschild Giraffe. It is located in Lang'ata, about 5 kilometers from the center of Nairobi. It was established in order to protect the endangered Rothschild Giraffe, that is found only in the grasslands of East Africa. At the Giraffe Center you are able to site on top of a platform and stand eye to eye with the Giraffes. You are given small pellets to feed the Giraffes and there are unlimited refills.
These are the most awesome places that I personally acknowledge as the best for an unforgettable excursion in Kenya. If you are looking forward to visiting Kenya soon for a great vacation, you can contact http://africahomeadventure.com/ for amazing tour offers for the above destinations and more.
