Upgrade Your Date Night: Fun Things to Do for Valentine’s

The essence of Valentine’s Day, unlike what most people think, is to actually spend time together and enjoy each other’s company. This is the most valuable Valentine’s Day gift that you can give or receive that will make you feel wonderful. Although there’s certainly nothing wrong with giving gifts, I don’t think it’s necessary to put pressure on yourself to make the day extra-special with a grand gesture. There are in fact some cheap (but not too shabby) Valentine’s ideas I have listed below which will help you convey how you really feel to your loved one.

Maybe the key to your partner’s heart is food, and you know it always gets them in a good mood. If you don’t want to get worked up preparing a full-course meal, how about ordering up a heart-shaped pizza from your favorite joint close by. Both of you can then get cozy on the couch or wherever and binge watch on an interesting series that just dropped its latest season. Regardless of the style of celebration you choose, the ideas below will make this year’s Valentine’s Day special for your spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend.

1. Go On A Safari

How extra special could it be enjoying not only one day but three or more days on a safari together in the wild. Setting out on a safari probably a day or two before the actual Valentine’s Day is a marvelous way to unplug from the bustle of everyday life and enjoy your honey’s company. Ending the day with a sun-downer in the wild is without a doubt a moment to savor.

2. Cook Dinner Together

You know what’s even more romantic than heading out to grab a meal at a public restaurant? Yes, picking up a recipe and preparing a special home-cooked meal together, even if one of you can’t cut onions. It will be a memorable dinner for you which you will both enjoy since you did the work together.

3. Do Something Crazy

On this day you might as well risk it all on an extreme sport. Okay, maybe not too extreme like bungee jumping (But for some people this is might be a great activity idea). You and your partner can consider taking on an activity you haven’t yet tried, an adventurous sport preferably one that will be heart-throbbing.

4. Take A City Tour

Bundle up and head on out to explore the nightlife of the city, or any location in your town which has been in your bucket-list but you’ve never visited. Become photogenic and snap millions of photos throughout the day to store in your memories journal.

5. Binge Watch

Grab a mega-sized popcorn and cuddle up for an evening of watching your favorite series together. Need inspiration for what movies to watch? Check out my favorite Valentine’s Day Movies.

6. Exchange Hearty Gifts

Affection can be also shown through exchanging, not just extravagant gifts, but also small heart-felt gifts. Perhaps you can consider getting your partner something that they have been wanting for some time, or even just a simple Valentine Card can go a long way in portraying your affection.

7. Take A Ride

Nowhere to go? Fret not. There are many places you can go with your partner, you just need a spirit of adventure to carry you through (and a full tank of gas, of course). Check out the best road trip ideas for you and your honey to have a blast on Valentine’s Day.
